Beginners Class — Students are taught the fundamental principles of safe sailing. Written and practical tests must be passed in order to move to the next level. Each class is limited to 18. This program meets five days a week for 2 weeks.
Intermediate / Advanced Class — Students who have completed the Beginners class or who can demonstrate basic sailing skills are encouraged to improve their skills. The curriculum will be tailored to accommodate both the recent Beginner’s graduate and the more advanced sailor. This class may/should be taken multiple times. This program meets five days a week for 2 weeks.
Advanced / 420 Sailing — This class will focus mainly on racing skills and is for sailors who are at least 12 years old and have completed at least two years of Intermediate/Advanced sailing OR who can demonstrate advanced sailing skills. Applicants need Sailing Program Director’s approval. Class is limited to 10. This program meets five days a week for 2 weeks.
Youth Sailing Class Schedule
Beginners 9am - noon
Intermediate/Advanced 1pm - 4pm
Session 1 begins on Monday June 29 and goes to July 13
Session 2 begins on Monday July 16 and goes to July 27
Session 3 begins July 30 and goes to August 10
At this time, all sailing program applications must be printed and mailed to the address listed on the form. Registration will not be considered complete until you have received written or verbal confirmation. You may pay either online using the link below or mail a check. Checks should be made payable to the Sherborn Yacht Club.
