The SYC Code of Conduct

The Sherborn Yacht Club is a community that welcomes everyone and includes all, no matter their shape, size, color, gender, background, disability, or beliefs. This code of conduct is meant for everyone who uses our watercraft and facility or attends our events. By upholding these seven promises, each of us can contribute to creating an open and friendly environment for all who learn, play, work and relax here—regardless of our age, or experience level.

• Set a positive example with my behavior

• Show integrity by honoring the club rules

• Be a good sport whether I win or lose

• Recognize that my words have real impact

• Speak up against discrimination, harassment and abuse

• Stop, listen and reassess if I’m told that my words or actions are harmful

• Respect others, even if their sincere opinions are different from my own
