Meet Our Staff
Our wonderful staff keeps our sails trimmed and our boats moving - read below to learn more about them! We are so grateful to have a group of young people from our community with diverse hobbies and interests.
Waterfront TEAM
Paoli Delaney - Waterfront Director
Paoli will be a freshman in college this coming fall and is planning to study economics and mathematics. This is Paoli’s third year at the SYC and first year as Waterfront Director. In his spare time he enjoys making music, coding, and exercising.
Kaitlyn Rogers - Assistant Waterfront Director
Kaitlyn will be a junior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. At the SYC, she enjoys taking out stand-up paddle boards and her favorite boat to sail is a Quest. This will be her second year at the SYC and first year as Assistant Waterfront Director. Kaitlyn is on the lacrosse and indoor track team at DS. She loves to go hiking and hanging out with her friends in her free time.
Instructional Team
Oliver Zawadzki - Instructional Co-Director
Oliver will be a freshman studying Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State this fall. He loves sailing 420s and Quests, and has been a captain of the Natick High School sailing team for two years. Oliver also enjoys rock climbing, hiking, listening to music, travelling, and writing. This summer will be his second year at the SYC and first as Instructional Director - he is very excited to sail and teach at the SYC this season.
Sally Siegal - Instructional Co-Director
Sally will be a senior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. She in on the soccer and ski teams at DSHS. This is her fifth year instructing at the SYC and first as Instructional Director. Her favorite boats at the SYC are Zests!
INSTRUCTORS
Allegra
Allegra will be a junior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. Allegra is on the DSHS girls soccer team will be a captain in the fall. She also snowboards races in the winter. She loves to play soccer and hang out with her friends. This will be Allegra’s third year working at the SYC, and first as instructor!
Clare
Clare will be a junior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. This is her fourth year at the SYC, and her favorite boat to sail is a Quest. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends, read, and run.
Graham
Graham will be a junior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. He has been sailing and teaching at the SYC for several years, as well as on the Puget Sound. He is on the soccer, alpine ski, and track teams, and his favorite boat is the 420.
Murray
Murray will be a junior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. His favorite boat to sail in at the SYC is the Zest and this will be his fourth year at the SYC. He likes to row at CRI and also likes to play golf. He also enjoys traveling with his family and backpacking.
Nolan
This fall, Nolan will be a senior at Dover-Sherborn High School and is excited to apply to colleges majoring in business. When possible, he likes to enjoy the weather and spend time outdoors. He loves to play sports and is a three-season athlete at DSHS. His favorite boat at the SYC are BICs because they are fast and very easy to use for all skill levels.
Laini - Weekend Instructor
Laini will be completing her master’s degree in Construction Management and Civil Engineering this fall at Northeastern University. At the SYC, she loves teaching and sharing her love for sailing. Laini is a goalie on the club hockey team at school, loves doing art, and playing games with friends.
Maeve - Weekend Instructor
Maeve is an alumni of Stonehill College where she received a B.S. in Biology and a double minor in Chemistry and Psychology and is now applying to graduate school. Maeve first started working at the SYC in 2021 as a sailing instructor and helped develop curriculum for the ecology program. Her favorite boat to sail at the SYC are the Zests! In her free time, Maeve loves baking and spending time with friends.
Melina - Weekend Instructor
Melina learned to sail as a student at the SYC and later worked as a dock staff. For all four years of high school, she sailed on Natick High School’s team. Melina has since graduated from college and is back at the SYC after six years. She loves to go on walks with her dog and do crafts with friends.
Marin - Flex Instructor
Marin will be a junior at Dover-Sherborn High School this fall. She runs cross country and track for DS and enjoys doing yoga in her free time. She also plays guitar for fun and enjoys reading books and hiking in her free time.
Junior Instructors
Chloe
Chloe will be a freshman this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. At the SYC, her favorite boats to sail are O'pen Bics and Quests. It will be her first year as a Junior Instructor! Chloe likes to play softball and participates in the Middle School's Drama program. Chloe's favorite subject at school is science. When not at school, she likes to go to the beach or hang out with her friends at the mall!
Walter
Walter will be a freshman this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. At the SYC he loves to sail O’Pen Bics and Quests. Walter plays town soccer and lacrosse for Dover-Sherborn, and he is hoping to make the High School team.
Devin
This fall, Devin will be a sophomore at Wellesley High School. They have taught sailing as a junior counselor at Camp Nonsuch. Their longest sailing trip was spent as crew aboard the eighty-five foot Schooner Martha for two weeks sailing through the San Juan islands, into Canada, and back. Devin is on the robotics team at WHS and plays trumpet in their school's jazz quintet.
Lila
Lila will be a rising freshman this fall. She enjoys playing soccer, skiing, and lacrosse. At her sleepaway camp, she has done sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing.
Louisa
Louisa is a rising freshman who has been sailing her whole life on the ocean and on Farm Pond. She likes playing soccer and spending time with her friends. This summer, she’s looking forward to sharing what she knows about sailing and helping others learn.
DOCK STAFF
Abby
Abby will be a junior at Dover-Sherborn High school. This will be Abby's third year working at the SYC. She is part of the Track team at DS. Her favorite boat at the SYC is Quest and she loves to babysit!
Avery
Avery will be a senior this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. At the SYC, Avery loves to go out on paddle boards with her friends, and this will be her second year as Dock Staff. At DS, Avery is part of the field hockey team and runs track in the spring. She also loved to ski with her family in the winter and spend time with friends.
Ben B.
Ben will be a sophomore at Ashland High School this fall. Ben is on the football team at AHS, and also runs track and field. This will be his second year at the SYC. He loves to go skiing, kayaking and spending time with friends.
Billy
Billy will be a junior at Dover-Sherborn High School, he loves to go fishing during the summer and during the school year he plays lacrosse and runs track. During the weekends he hangs out with his friends and enjoys meeting new people.
CC
CC will be a junior this fall at Dover Sherborn High School. This is her third summer at the SYC and she loves it! Her favorite boat to sail is a quest, but she also loves to paddle board. CC is on the cross country and track team. She loves being with her friends and loves her dog Ivy!
Connor
Connor will be a rising sophomore at Medfield High School this fall. Connor has spent the last five years as a student at the Sailing School and is excited about working at the SYC this summer. Connor loves playing baseball and fishing in his free time.
Janie - Community Engagement Lead
Janie will be a freshman at Hamilton College in the fall. She is planning on majoring in Environmental Studies because of her love for nature and passion for the environment. Janie loves to garden, read, sail, travel, and spend time with her friends.
Oliver R.
Oliver is an upcoming senior at Dover-Sherborn High School. Even though his favorite season is the summer, his favorite activity to do outside of school is snowboard! Oliver also loves technology, building his first computer at the age of 9.
Owen
An athletic enthusiast, Owen has experience in competitive rowing and is a past participant of the SYC Sailing School. He loves playing soccer, running track, and travelling with his family. When not outdoors, he loves watching Tottenham Hotspur or following the latest in Formula 1.
Sami
Sami with be a senior this fall at Medfield High School. This will be Sami’s first year working at the SYC. Sami is on the soccer and basketball ball team at MHS. She loves to go on walks with her dog and hang out with her friends in her free time.
Ty J.
Ty attends Dover-Sherborn High School and will be a senior this fall. He loves the outdoors and hot weather, and has fond memories of paddle boarding on Farm Pond with his family as a child. At DSHS, he plays varsity soccer (winning the division three state championship), indoor track, and outdoor track.
Veronica
Veronica will be a junior next year at Dover-Sherborn High School and will continue her part in the cross country and indoor track teams. This is her second year working at the SYC as Dock Staff. She likes to spend her free time hanging out with friends and going on runs.
Dock Staff In Training
Anna
Anna will be a freshman at Dover-Sherborn High School this upcoming year. In her free time, she loves sailing, skiing, and playing field hockey. Her favorite boat to sail at the SYC is an O'Pen Bic and has been a member of the SYC every year since moving to the area.
Ben S.
Ben is a rising freshman this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. He enjoys the outdoors and playing lacrosse, with plans of making the lacrosse team at DSHS. He has recently found a passion for skiing! At the SYC, his favorite boat to sail is the Quest and also enjoys taking out the SUPs.
Eliot
Eliot will be a freshman at Dover-Sherborn High School this fall. He has enjoyed playing soccer and futsal for nearly 10 years–70% of his life. He is a member of the town soccer team, has played for various clubs, and works as a referee for the DS Soccer Club. Recently, he won the DSMS Spelling Bee at school. Additionally, he likes cooking, spending time with his two Labradoodles, and everything computers.
Ella
Ella is an incoming freshman at Medway High School. You may have seen her sailing alongside her dad on his 15-foot Point Jude moored at Farm Pond. Ella competes in competitive cheerleading and plays lacrosse. She enjoys skiiing, building LEGOs, and hanging out with her friends.
Ty S.
Ty will be a freshman this fall at Dover-Sherborn High School. At the SYC, he loves to take SUPs and Quests out with friends. He plays lacrosse for the Penguins Lacrosse Club and hopes to continue in high school alongside skateboarding and snowboarding. Outside of sports, he has a passion for music and playing the bass guitar.
